We're kicking it back up again for Memorial Weekend! Come join us for our first 'Stopover in the Yard' of the spring 2016 season, brought to you by Savannah Stopover and The Grey.
On Saturday, May 28th, locals Ambrose will have you dancing on the picnic tables with their unique blend of soul, jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Did we mention trumpet? Yep!
Tickets for the event are $21 and are available on a first come-first served basis the day of the show. Doors open at noon. Tickets include southern fare prepared on the outdoor grill by Chef Mashama Bailey and your choice of beer, wine or Chatham Artillery Punch. The food menu will be announced closer to the show date and food is first come-first served. If you just want to come for the concert, the cost is $11 and also gets you a cold beer.
Just as the roll of thunder and the cool rain wash away the stress of Georgia’s hot august sun, Ambrose is the cool hand of a close friend that wipes your fevered brow after a championship boxing match. Throwing soul onto the floor with fury and grace is their forte. Steven Baumgardner leads the group with mix of soul and hip hop backed up by power house drummer Robert Saunders, driving bassist Greg Rettig, and the magical keys and horn of Jim Schaffer. Ambrose will lift your soul with a shout, move your feet with a thump, and grab your heart with a smile.
In their current iteration, Ambrose was formed in the fall of 2013 combining together the experience of some of savannah’s most beloved musicians. With albums forth coming and a show to stop hearts, watch out for them in the coming days of 2014
